Aubrey Bud 's Story
WOW! Can it be true that I'm 65? I certainly don't feel like it.
Because I took so many photos of school events at WA and Union, I remember many of your faces (the "then" photos)very well. Names and faces come flooding back as I recall those years. Even many names from Logan HS, where I spent only one year remain familiar.
After five years of teaching, three of which were at Campion Academy, I changed direction and spent three years as an HR Director with General Mills, then 30+ years consulting for industry giants, the names of which you would recognize. The work was both challenging and rewarding, but it took a heavy toll. One can't spend thousands of nights alone in hotel rooms over the years and be happily married and an involved dad. ff. My younger daughter works for the DIA (Google it)and just arrived home (Wash. D.C.) after a seven month tour doing intelligence work in Iraq. My younger son is in the Air Force, currently starting training to become a Combat Controller.
From early Spring to late Fall, Susan and I engage in some fairly serious flower gardening and landscaping. We value this for the exercise it provides in the fresh air, the quality time spent working together, and (usually) gratifying result. There really is something therapeutic about digging in the dirt, preferably with dirty hands.
I still take a few pictures from time to time, and also enjoy talking to other ham radio operators around the world. With whats left of my time I spend reading journals on foreign policy/affairs and ham radio. As mental exercise, I also read books and articles on cosmology and astronomy.
These days there is usually plenty of time to communicate, and I'd love to hear from you. I will respond if you drop me a note.
