Life October 3rd, 2007 Well life sure is changing in an upward motion. After my 2 serious accidents and all the doctors that I have seen 29 total, and after 5 years of injections, therapies (physical, occupational, speech therapy, pain psychology, shrinks, neuropsychology, vision and hearing) the first accident caused closed head injuries that was neglected for a year and a half by my own doctor in indian river. It was through a councelor that had found a series of problems while my visits and called in the neuropsychologist who pronounced that I had indeed had closed head injuries, I was sent to Travers City for the recovery for almost 2 years. many medications I had to take and injections for the lower back my neck and my left arm. It wasn't until july 20th of this year that my doctor was going to release me with still problems why my neuropsychologist had refered me to a Dr. Minster in St. Johns hospital to perform a surgery on my lower back, I had one disc that was totally crushed, 2 were badly ruptured, so they did an replacement of one of my discs cleaned up the other two, then when the doctor opened me for surgery he found damage from my second accident which at this point in time I wasnt' able to walk with out a cane due to problems with my right hip. Dr. Minster found that I had several nerve damages, several of the nerves were kinked and bunched up in a massive mess, so before he had replaced the disc and placed a spacer in the vertibre he had pulled each nerve into the spinal area and unmeshed the nerve bundle then fused the 3 disc's with a bone and screwed it on to the last disc and the 4 th disc. The surgery was only to take 4 to 5 hours but with the nerve damage he ran into the operation took 9 hours. I was only to be in the hospital for 4 to 5 days and was in for 2 weeks.
