Audrey's Story

Life Truth is indeed stranger than fiction. Had a written a story in high school about what I thought my life would have been like, and then compare it to reality, the shock would have have killed me!!! Ah well, so it goes. It's very difficult to know how to put in words the changes that have occured over 30 year (has it really been 30 years?) OUCH!! I have lived in several different states and currently find myself in Nebraska. That makes perfect sense considering that I was working for a company at that time that was coast to coast and I indicated to them that I did not want to move any further north or west, at the time I was living in Missouri, so they sent me northwest. Go figure! I have been married, divorced and remarried. I have 3 kids who have all graduated from high school and are dappling in college. I say dappling b/c the oldest just finished 3 1/2 months studying in Argentina, and youngest spent 9 months studying in Japan, and the middle kid (my only boy) signed on with the Marine reserves right outa high school. (a very scarey time for anyone to have a kid in the military) But they are all fine, healthy, wonderful kids. Of course, I'm not likely to say anything else considering how prejudice I am about them!! lol I currently own and operate my own company. That's just self preservation, no one can transfer me to a place that I don't want to go. That doesn't do anyth...Expand for more
ing about the fact I'm still in a state that I didn't want to be in. I like my weather woarm, and my beaches plentiful. As I sit here writing this, it's 2 degrees outside! I've often thought of picking up a snow shovel and heading south. When someone asks me what it is I"m carrying, I'll know that this is the climate that I choose to settle down in. (okay, so we all have our dreams) When I graduated from Buena Vista, I was quite large, had long hair, and I think one of the world's worst cases of "I know everything" Since then I've lost weight, cut my hair, and come face to face with the realization that I simply don't know squat! So, I grew my hair back, put on a long robe and went to live on a mountaintop. Okay, so that's fantasy also, except the part about losing weight and knowing that I really don't know so much. Funny to watch kids grow up and see them go through similar phases. Once upon a time they thought I knew everything, then they were completely convinced that I really didn't know anything, and now they're starting to understand that all we ever know is our own little slice of life. To all of you who endured Heathermen's biology class, Abraham's trig class, or any other class with me, I wish you all the best, and thanks for putting up with me. God bless. O, and PS, yes I do own a chopper and the total leather package that goes with it! LOL, who'd a thought it???
