Augustus's Story
I am currently living in Westbury. I have two wonderful daughters, one 32 who is a HS Math teacher, and another 28, who is a pastry chef. I have worked in the travel industry for the last 30 years, with two European airlines, and two cruise lines. I currently am a sales manager for Holland America Line, where i have worked for the last 20 years covering a large territory that encompasses Staten Island to Eastern Long Island and the state of Connecticut. I travel often, which is a passion, and have a passion as well for Neil Young's music. After the passing of my father last year, I realized that there was much about his service during WW2 that I did not know. I did not know that he landed at Utah Beach in Normandy and that he was awarded a medal for the Battle of the Bulge. nd recently traced that same route through France and Belgium with my younger daughter. It was very emotional, as well as a rewarding trip that made me feel closer to my father. I also made several good friends in Belgium whose friendship I will forever cherish. I have been involved in local organizations in Hicksvlille, where I lived for 21 years. I am currently the Vice President of the Boys and Girls Club in Hicksville, on whose board I have sat since 1999. I also served as both President and Vice President of the Hicksville Board of Education, to which I was elected in 2003. I love auctions, am a memorabilia buff , nostalgia ( have reassembled much of my childhood) and being sociable, and of course, Neil Young.
