Autumn's Story
Namaste! So you are wondering what I've been up to since graduation.....
Family:
I returned back to my hometown to attend Univ. of Georgia. Later I moved to Virginia where I met my husband in 93. He's the Director of Information Systems and Technology for Project HOPE. Friends who knew me, knew I never wanted kids and I still don't, so NO KIDS (YEA FREEDOM!). I do have 2 Pugs, Edith & Archie, (they're dogs for the uninformed), they're my babies. But enough about everyone else you came to read about ME-ME-ME! (ha ha)
Career:
I work mainly in computers, graphic design, website development, and marketing at the Director level. I create ad campaigns, product catalogs, and a variety of digital artwork for print and web. I also work with various programming languages for creating web-based applications.
Lifestyle:
I'd consider myself a sort of eccentric and bohemian/hippie type. I go my own way and do my own thing in my personal life. I like to try new things and venture out of my comfort zone. I've never really been one to follow what everyone else is doing. I'm not religious, if anything, my preference is for Eastern philosophy. I practice a "live and let live" lifestyle, acceptance of all people and keeping an open mind to different ways of thinking and being. Tolerance, love and compassion are within us all.
Interests:
Dance has always been a part of my life and for the last 7 or 8 years I have enjoyed learning and per...Expand for more
forming bellydance in Cabaret style, American Tribal and Tribal Fusion styles. I've studied with some of the world-renowned "stars" and legends of the bellydance community. I'm also into other forms of dance as well including East and West Coast Swing, Tango, Cha-Cha, Mambo, Salsa, Tap, Ballet, Bhangra, and even a little Flamenco.
A few years ago I laced up a new pair of "quads" and hit the roller-rink again. I hadn't been roller-skating since 4th or 5th grade. What fun! It took about 20 or 30 minutes to get back into the groove. I got the skating bug and started going regularly on the weekends.
Travel:
We enjoy travling in our free time and have traveled to many countries: France, England, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, Monaco, Germany, Bahamas, Mexico, India, Nepal, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, and most recently China (11/2007).
I wouldn't mind hearing from my old classmates. Feel free to e-mail me if ya'wanna.
Here's one final gem for you, a quote I've taken as my personal mantra:
"Each day, participate in a little glorious non-sense." -
Alan Watts
Alan Watts (1915-1973) was a philosopher, writer, and speaker. He wrote over twenty books and numerous articles on subjects such as personal identity, the true nature of reality, and the pursuit of happiness, relating his experience to scientific knowledge and to the teachings of Eastern and Western religions and philosophies.
