School
Well, I joined the Navy, in 1981. Attended Basic in Orlando, Fl. under Co. Commander (MMCS Hooker), Comp. #164.
Right after, attending A.P. School, there on the Base. Afterward, being stationed upon the USS Trenton, LPD-14, stationed at Norfolk, Va. From there, I was placed as a Boiler Tech.. I served under my first Capt., Capt. Hannah.
My 2nd Capt. was Capt R.E. Whitby, Jr.. CHIEF Engineer was Lt. Mickleberry, Then BTCS Johnson, BTC Harlow, BT1 Scorsonee, BT1 Douglas, BT1 Brown, BT2 Kafchinski, BT2 Roberts. I enjoyed the men from whom were my acting "bosses". They really earned my enduring respect for each other. And til...Expand for more
l this day, I still honor the respect from which had earned in my sight. Chief Burke, well that's another story!!!(Everyone whom served below him, knows that, lol-----"Blanket Party", lol)--HE EARNED IT!!!!! Well, I got out and tried to attain a job useing my experience as a BT in my home town. There were boilers in several of the plants, but get this!!!----(I was OVERLY EDUCATED for the jobs!!!!) I hadn't heard that one before!
Anyhow, I obtained a normal job and have worked as hard as
I possible could through 5 different jobs until I came down one Sunday afternoon with epilepsy. BAM!! Out of know where! Wasn't any on-coming warning of any kind. And I've had it every since 1992. That's another reason why I'm wanting to get OUR reunion taken care of, and everyone get-
ting back together once again. For noone knows when something such as this for instantce may happen to you! So use this chance!! to get back together with your old shipmates, the ones whom were your, very best friends, the ones in which you dearly respected, or just to see once again!! You can feel more fullfilled in your inner-self, retrieving those old memories, bringing them more closer, to the day of the Reunion!! I RESPECT ALL OF YOU WHICH HAVE SERVED ABOARD THE USS TRENTON, WHETHER I SERVED WITH YOU OR NOT. You've been Great Shipmates to have kept the Old Girl going! Hope to see ALL of you at OUR REUNION, (2007)
