Jana's Story

11.08 Just realized that life has a way of getting away from you before you know it. It's one of those things your parents used to warn you about but you didn't have the good sense to pay attention to. So I guess an update is in order. My son Garrett is 3 months away from turning six is a kindergartner now! Full-time working Mom's guilt has me volunteering at every activity they sucker me in to, and that's ok. Love to hear "HI Garrett's Mom!" when I see them. I've enjoyed seeing how he interacts at school and was amazed that his ambition to "entertain" hasn't gotten him in trouble once! Our first PTC was surreal. So proud of him, and happy that the hard work we put in to lay the ground work, is paying off. Gabriella turned three in October, out of diapers for a while now. It's funny that you wish for these things to happen, but when they do you are sad that it's another piece of childhood, gone in a blink of an eye. She's quite the little girl, with a fierce love of shoes, clothes and all things 'girly', without being prissy. Wait, that sums me up too! We took a lot of trips with the travel trailer this summer, my favorite was probably the MacKenzie River where we stayed right on the river. Awesome to watch the rafters fly by the campsite. Sean and I were able to go ourselves one day and that was THE BEST! My husband? Not a big water guy-- so this...Expand for more
was a leap for him. We also hit Alder Lake, Loon Lake, and favorites, like Fort Stevens, Beverly Beach, and Cannon Beach along the way. We broke down and got a cart for my bike for sis, and one of those half bikes that fits on Sean's for Garrett. So we enjoy taking those camping and race around the campground. Having little ones "later" in life, has made me appreciate the little things and not sweat the small stuff that's for sure. We are blessed, tired, but blessed. Well being in Finance as I still am, continuing to work in Lake Oswego, is a rocky market. Hoping to ride it out, because no one wants to look for a job right now! I've been with the company for over 8 years now, and would hate to leave the people that feel more like family than co-workers. Sean and his family are still plugging along at their auto repair shop, but that too has been affected by the recession the politicians predict we may be headed into. TAKE A LOOK AROUND, ASK US COMMON FOLK, WE ARE FULL ON IN ONE YOU DOLTS! Imagine what you do to save money when times are tough, you don't run to the mechanic when you hear that mysterious noise coming from the car, you pray it just goes away! You'd think I'd be getting my car serviced more with this lull though... Hmmm, think that about wraps it up, for now. Hope it didn't bore you to tears. It's life, it's mine, and it's ok by me..
