Andrea's Story

Had my son at 34 (better late than never)I love being a Mother. I have a wonderful extended family, lots of step kids, and even more step Grand kids. Never married, but with my soul mate for the last 15 years..I enjoy life, I have been pretty fortunate considering. Yea! I would do it all over again...
Ran a family owned B&B on the Northern CA coast for 15 years. Continued going to school, became a RN, specializing in Geriatrics care and medicine. Spent five years as a Public Health Nurse working for the Department of Social Services.Worked for a Senior Service Program as a visiting nurse, and Case Manager for the Department of Aging. At this time I am caring for my Mother who lives in my home. She is 80.I'm very active with:

In Memory of Ricky Teague
The trial is over, and the drunken driver who killed my 16 year old son in 2007, was convicted of 2nd degree murder, along with several other charges, The driver is looking at 30 years. I'm hoping to be able to put this behind me now and start living again. Peace Be With You All. And remember, "Don't Drink and Drive" the life you save might be your own...

ool now doing graduate work in NeuroScience and Research. I'll be 60 years old before I get where I want to be. Oh well, better late than never.
I blow off steam by a very loud
Scream, stomp my foot, jump off the porch, and hope nobody payed any notice. The worst thing I ever did in school was getting caught doing anything.
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have coffee, another cup, and and a red bull to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
My Son Ricky is my hero, he taught me how to love someone more than myself,
He taught me the courage is when you are afraid of something but you do it anyway..
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Richard because he was really a nice guy, a good friend, very honorable, and made me laugh.
If I won $100 million, I'd give 50 million of it to family and friends, then spend the rest on research, Senior Services, and working with our soldiers in the military who get home and need a bit of mind and body health, make sure they have homes jobs, education, what ever they need.
And make sure each and every one is treated with the respect they deserve.
My current age is 53. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead.
Something I'd change I would,
Take life a little slower, live each and every moment for just what it is, "a moment" and never ever take anything for granted.
I hope my friends remember me as "a good friend", someone who could find the good in the worst of ways. A bit fearless, but good at heart.
