Sally's Story
Life
I married John Kanesky April 8, 1972. We had 3 wonderful children together, Sherri, Sheila and John II. We first moved to TX after the birth of our son. and then moved to FL in 1983. I went to work for the LCSO in 1984 and in 1986 became a Detention Officer. On November 9, 1994 my husband John had a heart attack and died. I am now remarried to a wonderful man, named Tim Baraw!
I have my 3 children, now adults, 3 grandchildren and 1step-daughter. I am still working as a Detention officer, having just celebrating my 20th year with the LCSO!
02/16/2006 Well, I don't recall when I wrote that bio but I retired from the LCSO in October of 2005 with 21 1/2 years of service. Its great not having to get up so early and go to work. Its funny not getting up and putting on a uniform every day! I am adjusting and enjoying the time I am taking off. I do intend on going back to work doing something. Not quite sure yet what I will get into.
My family is all doing fantastic! My son is planning on a 2006 wedding. He is the youngest of my 3 children. Don't feel old enough to have all my kids old enough to be married. Well, my oldest daughter is married and my middle child, my youngest daughter is a widow of 3 years already. Lost her husband in a motorcycle accident. Then to realize that I have a stepdaughter who is just going into the dating years is kind of scary!
I have taken this time off to go through a lot of things I have collected through the years, weeding out a lot and disposing of stuff I have managed to collect while working all those years.
I am working on my family tree. Wish I had started it at a lot younger age when more of my family was still alive. I have lost both my parents and my grandparent...Expand for more
s are both gone too. So let this be a warning to those of you who have thought about doing this, start as soon as you can. It is a fun and interesting thing to do.

Well, haven't been on here in a while. I have some new changes! My son got married in May of 2006 and my daughter got remarried in Sept of 2006! She is already 3 1/2 months pregnant! So I am going to be a grandmother again! I also have a new step granddaughter that is 17! So the family is certainly growing!

Finally decided to put pictures on here of the family, including Buddy our Boxer.
I spend my days now babysitting Zachary while his parents work and I love every minute of it. It certainly brings back memories of raising my own kids! Can't believe how big the grand kids are getting, they grow so fast!

New up date! Right after Thanksgiving 2007 my husband and I moved to Arlington, TX. I am missing my kids a lot but my daughter Sheila and her family will be moving here shortly. I talk to my kids just about everyday and that will never stop!! This part of TX is a lot better, like a different country than west TX!!!!!!

I have been trying to find an old friend Debbie Merritt. I am not sure what her married name is. Debbie if you come across this you will find me on Facebook as Sally Sharp Kanesky Baraw.
We are still loving Arlington, TX even though we are going through a horrible drought here and horrible temps. Since I was last on here not only has one of my daughter's (Sheila) and her family moved here but also my son John and his wife. My daughter Sherri and her husband Tom have careers in law enforcement in FL so they won't be moving in the near future, they are too near retirement to be moving.
