Barb's Story
Life
After graducating from high school, I worked locally in the Seattle area until my marriage to a wonderful Canadian man in 1978. Can you imangine dating from Seattle to Vancouver, BC for three years? Anyhow we did. We have survived almost 30 years of marriage (so far) and kept our sanity while raising two children. A daughter now 26 and a son 24, who both go to school and are employed (thank the Lord). I have been busy over the last 20 years producing and directing community theatre. I have also produced an award winning documentary on gay youth for community television. I am most proud of hosting a magazine program for 5 years called "56th Ave". This production won an award for the best community magazine program across Canada. I don't do the television...Expand for more
program anymore as their format has changed. I continue to do theatre and recently gave up my position as the club's president over the last three years. I am currently employed as a cosmetician at a major drug store chain in White Rock, BC. My parent's left the Kent area in 1982 and are living in Eastern Washington. ( they have both passed now)I still keep in contact with a few people from our 1974 graduating class. 2021 UPDATE……2020 .My husband and I have both retired and moved to Vancouver Island we live in a beautiful spot. Who knew we would be building a house during a pandemic…..crazy. We are grandparents now. Our son and his family live near us, our daughter and her family live in Australia. We enjoy fishing, golfing, nature hikes and just hanging out.
