September 2008 Update:
When you plan your life, do it in pencil since nothing ever goes as planned. I am incredibly and deeply saddened to announce that what was supposed to be a routine doctor's exam on the afternoon of Monday, July 21st turned out to be a bittersweet set of events. The doctor could not detect the boy's heartbeat and immediately admitted me to the Labor & Delivery unit at the medical center where the doctors and nurses began to monitor the activities of the girl throughout the night. They also monitored me to ensure that my health was not compromised.
On the morning of Tuesday July 22nd, our worst fears had been confirmed: the boy had, indeed, died sometime during 29 and 32 weeks gestation. Our beloved son, Noah Powell, was born still on July 22nd at 10:41 a.m. He was 14 inches long and weighed 3 lbs. While crying tears of pain and sorrow, we had also been crying tears of celebration and joy at the birth of our beautiful little girl. Noah's sister, Julia Rose Powell, was born on July 22nd at 10:40 a.m. At birth, Julia was 17 inches long and weighed 4 lbs. 11 ozs.
Words cannot begin to explain the confusion Nate and I are feeling during this time of mixed emotions of sorrow and happiness, and the feeling of pain and joy we feel is probably the most confusing either of us has ever experienced in our lives.
At the moment, our beautiful daughter is home after a 4-week stay in the NICU and she is 7 lbs. big. We love her to death, yet I think...Expand for more
of her twin brother every single day. I truly believe Julia has a special little guardian angel watching over her and that she is destined for all good things in life :)

Life
Howdy y'all from Texas ~
Here's an update for anyone reading this (or for anyone interested in my exciting life) --- my husband and I are going to be first-time parents ... TO TWINS! You read correctly --- the twins (which we had confirmed are one BOY and one GIRL) are scheduled to make their arrival on August 25th, '08 but only time will tell :)

Due to a job transfer my husband got, we sold our home in Rhode Island, packed up everything, and made two road trips to Texas (ask me why). We closed on our dream home ("mansion" is more like it) in Keller, TX at the very end of May in 2007 and right now, I am holding down a full-time government job as a Senior Software Quality Assurance Specialist in downtown Fort Worth. So far, life in Texas is great!
My family consists of my best friend (hubby), Zoe (German Shepherd Dog), and Ramona, Shadow & Olivia (3 kitties). For now, that is :)
I am completely enjoying this thrilling adventure we call LIFE -- there is so much to do and so little time to do it all in.

I always wanted to be a artist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea. As it turns out, they were wrong, as usual.
