Barbara's Story

Life I have had an exciting life so far. I moved from Seattle to Boston, Mass. in 1977. Then I lived in the Bahamas for awhile. From 1979-1994 I lived in Miami, Fl. 1994 to March 2004 I lived in Lewes, Delaware. I returned to Miami for a new adventure. I raised 5 children (3 boys & 2 girls) and now I am a grandmother of 8.....I am divorced since 2002. I am a survivor and am looking forward to the many changes and adventures ahead of me. I enjoy traveling and spending time with my grand-children. Now I'm figuring what to do with the rest of my life. I have found that I enjoy listening to Jazz and I am no longer uncomfortable dining out or going to the movies alone. Now that I have my own place I am enjoying new decorating projects. My job has a lot of responsibilities and demands but I relish the challenge. As I look back over my life I have a lot to be thankful for. In a couple of years I hope to retire. School I enjoyed school although I didn't partake in as many activities as I should have. I had a few friends and many acquaintences. I should have tried harder academically. I have no regrets. College In 1997 at 50 years young, when my daughter entered college I went with her. We were locker partners. I was only there for one year and got straight "A's". It was a great experience for me and prepared me for the times ahead. She continued on and at 25 years old got her RN. I am very proud of her. She did this while working full-time and raising her son. Workplace I am the Customer Service Manager of a French Company. ...Expand for more
We sell expensive fabrics and wallpapers to designers. I have a strong active part in setting up and maintaining our collections in 16 US showrooms. I am now refreshing my high-school French which I never had the opportunity to use before now. I have a lot of responsibilities and am very appreciated. Now that I am alone, this job is good for me. I need to work to support myself and I might as well enjoy it. I am in my 10th year with this company. 2003 My younger sister Betty died in July. I was able to spend one month with her in Feb & Mar. 2007 This year I had 3 visits to Seattle. April I found out that my younger brother Terry is dying of Emphazema (sp?) In Sept. my younger sister Linda found out she had Lung Cancer so I spent time with her and went to the 40 year Clas Reunion. Oct. she died and I returned for the funeral. Then at the end of Dec. I went to Delaware for a visit with my children & 5 of my grand-children. 2008 This year is starting off GREAT! Jan. I went to Paris! Fantastic. My brother is still hanging on but getting progressively weaker. But my older sister died Aug and I was back to Seattle. 2009 My brother Terry died. Now I am the last of my mother's children. I still have my step-brother Richard Evans. 2014 In my tenth year with my job I have been "let go". Even though not as planned, I guess it is time to retire. Now I would like to travel and do further research on my ancestry. Maybe I will move back to the West coast. Who knows where my next adventures will take me??? Feel free to contact me 3059753896
