Barbara's Story
Life
I married Doug Torborg in 1986 and we had two children, James and Tammy. We divorced a few years later, but remain great friends. I married my childhood sweetheart, Richie, he was my first actual boyfriend when I was 14. We have two girls together, Amanda and Jenna. I worked for Lynbrook Lab for five years and later accepted a Job working for the Nassau County Executive's office. I left Nassau County after my son James was born and became a stay at home Mom. I worked for an insurance Brokerage for 6 years. I began as an assistant to a producer and was later promoted to Program Underwriter of the Health Care Division. When my daughter Amanda was born, I began working for the company at home. Currently, I am the personal assistant to the Pastor of the Island Park United Methodist Church. I have been a Sunday School teacher there for 6 years. We live in Island Park, but are considering moving closer to Conn. where my Husband works for UBS.
