Barbara's Story
Life
After graduation from Auburn, (War Eagle!), I married John Assell (also from B'ham-John Carroll) and taught for a year in Phenix City until he graduated. Then he took a job with Delco Remy (div. of GM) in Anderson, IN where we lived for 15 yrs and had 3 children. In '85 we transferred to Albany, GA for 12 years, then back to AL where we resided in Cullman for about 8 ...Expand for more
years. We moved closer to B'ham in March, 2006, in the Clay area. I was a stay-at-home mom in IN, but went back to teaching in GA. In Cullman I taught for 4 yrs until the last child graduated from AU. My family is still in B'ham. My children are Jennifer, a manager of a retail store (B'ham); Mike, an optometrist in NC, and Hayley, an art director with O2 Ideas in B'ham.
