Barbara's Story
I married my Husband Tony in November 1956, we celebrated 60 years of marriage last November.
We both retired,in 2000 and have lived in Claremont for 39 years and in Southern California for 51 years. We have 3 grown Children, 1 son, 2 Daughters. and 4 Grandchildren.
Our Daughters and their families live close by, so we see them often. Our Son lives in N. California, We talk often and get to see him a couple of times a year.
We are both actively involved in our Community and our church. My husband is a volunteer with the Claremont Police Dept, and also works as a parking lot guard at our Commuter Train Station, 3 hrs a day, 5 days a week. This gives us a lot of time to do activities together.
Claremont is a small college town which also has a lot of Senior Citizens and activities to participate in.
We both volunteer with the Claremont Senior Computer Club and I have been the editor of the weekly Bulletin for 16 yrs.
We no longer have any animals of our own, but dog sit for our Children when they go on vacation.

ing and entertaining, since So. Calif is a mild climate we spend a lot of time outdoors which also helps keep us physically fit. We now have 4 Great Grandchildren, 3 Boys and a 1 Girl.. 2 of them live in Florida, but we see the oldest 2 often, they live close by. We were lucky enough to go to Italy in 2015, We also saw the Pope just before he came to America. While on the trip I had a problem with shortness of breath, When we returned my Dr. sent me to a Heart Specialist, and after an Angiogram, they found I had 3 severely blocked arteries. My Heart surgery was successful and I have recovered well I had to cut back on some of my activities including Golf, but as time goes by I am able to resume a lot of the things I used to do. We are looking forward to the Class of 57 reunion this coming September and seeing everyone then. We moved to Loxahatchee Florida in December of 2020, We sold our home in Claremont and are now close to our 2 Daughters and Granddaughter. It was hard to leave California but is best for us now that we are older
