Barbara's Story
I married Billy Smith May of l963. We had two children and I have a stepdaughter. My daughter has two boys,
15 and l7 - my son has a son, 20 and
a daughter 20 months - my stepdaughter
has three girls with children of their
own. So therefore I am also a great-
grandmother of five. "LOVE
Billy passed away in April, 2006. We were within two weeks of being married
44 years.
Of course, I worked out in the working
world for many years for the Clerk of
Court and the Tax Assessors Office until I decided to stay home and work.
So I had a daycare in my home for about
15 years.
Then I decided to stop that and clean
houses so I had more time to myself.
I work only mornings so I have more time now to enjoy my new grandbaby.

Billy is gone. I have to get my daily dose of her everyday.
I love being outside working in my yard. Hurricane Charley got our house of 28 years. Then we bought the old
Doctor Banks house on Heard Bridge Road
and restored it. Billy lived there seven months before he died, so I have a lot to take of, but love it.
Also enjoy laying in my hammock, fishing, singing karoake, and dancing.
But Hey, Life at 65 is good.
I also just got a part in South Pacific
which we are now practicing for.
We have a Theatre group here called the
Hardee Players. The play starts November 7 and runs two weekends.
I guess that is about the jest of my life, with much more behind the scenes.
So I am signing off now.
Look forward to seeing everyone in January.
