Barbara's Story
I think people will remember me as someone who love sports and being a little different from the in crowd.
I always wanted to be a gym teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were 1/2 right. For about 30 years, (off & on), I would teacher swimming at the Covington YMCA.
As for blowing off steam, like most women, let me yell and get out and then I'll be fine. But as I have gotten older I just go to Curves.
The wildest thing that I remember doing in high school was letting my boyfried do my book report. With my brother teaching at my high school and my father being on the Board of Education, I couldn't do anything with out someone watching. I still hate to read.
My hero was my late husband, he was very funny but could be very spirital and keep me on the straigh and narrow road.
I lived in Kentucky for 38 years, then I move to Florida for 20 yesrs, where I meet my husband, when we retired we moved to North Carolina for 2 years and now I'm in Hamilton, Ohio. Since then I have remarried to my high school sweetheart in 2012 and live in Independence.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is my best friend Diana Skinner Stratton which I have keep in touch with all these years. As for someone I haven't keep in contact with and would like to see again is Emily Hernandaz. Which I had visit with her in Florida after my husband died.
The biggest things I thought I would never ever do is get divorce, and the second thing was to sing a solo in church more than once
My parent really got me into sports and my kids show me how much fun it is to watch, not just play it.

The teacher I would love to see is Miss Schorder, she was so supported to me. Mr. Daughtery, he was so funny trying to learn how to do the turkey neck thing.
If I won $100 Million, I'd give 10% of it to church, then spend the rest on my sons Chad, Bobby, and then me.
My best friend would tell you I really know how to be crurd, I don't think before opening my big mouth but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet.
The weirdest job I ever had was clean up rental property. You wouldn't believe how people live, what they leave behind and were.
If I could do one do-over, but I have 2. The first one, I would of been nicer to my sister the day before she was murder and the second would of been keeping my house in Florida.
My oldest friend was always the smart one and she thinks I have common sense. We meet at School in the 8th. grade.
I think everyone would be surprise that I'm more stable then I was before.
My first job was at the YMCA, where I got Paid $1.00 an hour for teaching swimming. What I remember most about it was a lady that would not put her face in the water, so I ask her, "how do wash your face?" Her answer, "I use cold cream". Yes, I finally got her to put here face in the water, but that was all!
A childhood memory that I will never forget is my brother taking me in the boys locker room and bring me out on his shoulds at his basketball games in high school before every home game. My brother is 12 years old than I am.
Never said you can't go back home again or turn the clock back! I kinda have done both. I have moved back to Kentucky & I have married my high school sweetheart Gary Welch Grubbs
