Barbara's Story
After graduating from Hueneme High in 1966, I started working at Point Mugu Naval Base. I met Ron Griffin and we were married on March 1967 in Oxnard. Shortly there after we moved to Pennsylvania, were our son was born. We then returned to Oxnard in 1968 where both our daughters were born. We moved to Hawthorne, California. I worked at Point Mugu Naval Base and then transferred to U. S. Customs Service. I retire in 2005 and moved to Mesa, Arizona with my Husband. Our youngest daughter is the only one...Expand for more
that has married. She met her husband (who is a Seabee) while serving in the Navy in Sicily, Italy. Our grandson was born in Sicily, Italy and they then returned to the United States and were stationed at Hueneme Naval Base. Our grandaughter was born in Ventura. They will be returning the Hueneme at the end of May this year. I love going to the Reunions and seeing all of my friends and hope to see more. My best friend Toni Syndergaard is still living in Oxnard and we see each other every now and then.
