Barbara's Story
I gradutated from college in '72 and started teaching 2nd grade at Morton Gingerwood School in Oak Forest (Dist. 145). I married Ken Nayder (Class of 67) in 1974 buying a house in Midlothian. I continued to teach, changing to 1st grade and moving to Scarlet Oak School in Oak Forest. I left full time teaching in 1980 and subbed in School District 144 for a year. was in 1st grade at Fierke Ed. Cent. The majority of my positions were at Fierke. I still attend Markham Lutheran Church where I've been the church organist on and off since 1968. We've been trying to sell our house and move to a smaller house in a warmer climate, but the real estate market hasn't been cooperating. Our daughter lives in So. Bend, IN, and is an urban planner for the county of St. Joseph. We enjoy traveling, which is why I've been subbing these past few years to take advantage of being able to take trips whenever we want.
