Barbara's Story
After graduation I attended the UW for one year before marrying Dick Stephens. We had a son Mark - 48 and daughter Julie -44 in our 33 years of marriage. I went back to college in 1993 and earned a double degree. Dick and I owned an awards business in Everett for 17 years. I have been a Human Resources Director/Management Consultant for the past 39 years. Dick died in 1998 of prostate cancer. I got into real estate after his death and owned and managed up to 8 rentals.
I am still the Human Resources Consultant at El Centro de la Raza on Beacon Hill after more than 13 years. I own a summer home in Desert Aire on the C...Expand for more
olumbia River. My dream is to retire in my early 70's and live winters in Arizona and summers traveling in a motor home. I love sunshine and palm trees.
I've had a good life, spent years traveling, boating in the San Juans, performing at the 5th Avenue Theatre with Follies and did some modeling. I still sing and ballroom dance when I can. I'm in the process of downsizing my rentals and look forward to the day that I won't have to deal with tenants.
I only attended Queen Anne in my Senior year after moving over from Spokane, but I had a memorable time on Queen Anne hill and at my first job working at the Seattle Center.
