Barbara's Story
Life
Married out of high school to a wonderful man from Texas, Still married after all these years. Have 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren, boy and girl. I live at Smith Mountain Lake now - been here since 1992. Went to VA Western after my kids got older and got my nursing degree in 1992. Work at Roanoke Memorial in the ICU for the past 8 years. Was at Lewis Gale before that. Love going to Hatteras and Ocracoke Island every year, as a matter of fact, we go twice a year. Would...Expand for more

School
Some of my most cherished memories of school was at Back Creek Elementary School. The friends that I made there and the teachers have made a lasting impression on my life. I will never forget the fearsome foursome of Sharon, Carolyn, Janet and Barbara or the trip to Washington. Mrs. Grizzard was awesome and Mr. McCubbin was a hoot. Working in the library and the infamous "Character Books".
