Barbara's Story
My first husband and I divorced in 1977 and in 1985, I moved to a town that is 11 miles west of Richmond, VA. My 2nd husband and I came here with the company that I worked for in NY. My son, Bob, was then in College at the State University at Binghamton. He came down later after he graduated, but didn't stay long. He went west to California and decided that was the life and place for him. My 2nd husband Mike passed away in 1994, just a week before my son married. After 4 years I married again to my husband Doug. He too was a wonderful man, but after 9 years of marriage, he too passed away, just a year ago in July. Both husbands had serious medical problems when I married them. I now am alone again and teaching Piano and Guitar. My husb...Expand for more
and Doug and I taught for the whole time we were married and it gave us a lot of enjoyment as well as a relatively good income. Now with just me, it's on a much smaller scale, but I still love it. My son and daughter-in-law have a daughter who will be 12 in January. She is the little girl with me in the photo. Her name is Natalie and she is precious, I just hate the fact that she is so far away. I don't get out there as often as I wish I could. Other than the losses of my 2 husbands, life in Virginia has been pretty good. I have a large network of friends and a step son here that is like my own son, and a terrific Church family, so life, for the most part is good. I have done many things since high school, way too much to go into here.
