Barbara Gelberd, President of BRIDGEBUILDERS, LLC, connecting differences  creating value, brings with her more than 20 years of dynamic healthcare experience in operations management, business development, process improvement, and organizational development in provider, managed care and disease management sectors. She is a proven leader skilled at developing strengths of team members to achieve results. In addition to her work with BRIDGEBUILDERS, LLC., she is a business consultant and trainer for Pope & Associates, a nationally recognized diversity and inclusion consultancy
Prior to founding BRIDGEBUILDERS, LLC she was Director, Operations and Organizational Development for Pfizer Health Solutions, Inc. She led the team that managed business infrastructure tools and processes for PHSÂs virtual organization, identifying and acting on opportunities for organizational effectiveness and improvement. PHS. Ms. Gelberd was Midwest Regional Consultant with Stuart Disease Management Services and served as Midwest Regional Service Center Director for Intracorp, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cigna providing medical management and cost containment services. She was a Hospital CEO and Regional Vice President for Mental Health Management, Inc.
Ms. Gelberd began her career as a clinical social worker at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, Pittsburgh, Pa. She was a pioneer in the development of HMO service delivery, creating a staff model behavioral health delivery service for Health America (later Maxicare), Pittsburgh, Pa 1980 Â 1985.
She has a Master in Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. Ms. Gelberd received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Furman University. She is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
She is married with 2 step-children and 2 grandchildren, ages 7 and 5.
