Barbara's Story
We've been in Monteverde, Costa Rica for 4 years now and though the community is changing all of the time, its still a village and I've realized that CR is a 3rd world country on steroids.....
The green season is here (up to 10 feet of rain--70% occuring on 15 days) and the tourists must be going somewhere where its drier and sunnier cos they sure aren't here. Makes it much easier t...Expand for more
o go into town for groceries or breakfast at Chunches.
We're hearing (again) that the road up the mountain to Monteverde will be paved within a year or so. That'll bring more short-term tourists which can also bring along problems but we'll be able to get to the beach in maybe 3 hours instead of the usual winding, bumpy four.
Thats my story for now......and I'm stickin' to it.......
