Barbara's Story
I am still writing creative stories, loving biology, have added the field of Geology to my studies of nature, and still sit in the back of the classroom till I feel comfortable around the people in the class. I have gone back to school to study Geology! I love living in the Northwest, with its natural resources and geological features.
One child is left at home, but not for long. She almost has her associates degree and will be continuing her major in Chinese. She has lived in China, for 3 months last summer, and has an ear for all Asian languages. I will miss her when she leaves but I will be proud to see her fly!
My dream goal is to hike up Mount St Helen in Washington with a Geology class! I am slowing working on getting strong enough to hike up the Volcanoe. It is a steep climb up but a "slide" down! As long as I miss the volcanic boulders!

st June, to put my Mother to rest next to my Father. Her death was unexpected. Now my ties to Arizona are all gone. I dont miss the desert much, I love the green. Alright, it does rain alot but it is worth it!
I live an hour from the beach! Did you know that Oregon is the only state that has 2 low tides and 2 high tides every day? I did some beach profiling for a geology class for a year. I really enjoyed it. Now we are getting the Tsunami debris from Japan on our shores. It is exciting to see but very sad at the same time.
My one daughter's friend lives in Japan. She survived the Tsunami, only because she was with her class on a field trip. They barely escaped the waves in time. But she lost all of her family and to this date, still lives in one of the shelters. We have learned so much from their Tsunami that helps us to prepare for when a large one will hit our coast.
