Barbara's Story

Life Actually I spend my winters in Montserrat, West Indies, which is just west of Antigua in the Caribbean. This is the island that has an active volcano. The northern half of the island is still beautiful and in a few years the southern half will turn green again. I am working on a website for the Montserrat Rotaract club. In the meantime just do a seach for Montserrat on google. Wasghington state has been my home for over 20 years and it is as wet as you have heard -- in fact it is cold and raining (28 June 2002) today. My degree is in Psychology/Anthro/Soc from San Jose State University with a M.A. in Counseling from SJSU. I was involved in Animal ...Expand for more
behavior research for many years and edited a newsletter -- but have given that up to art (fiberart, watermedia, oil). In Montserrat I help out with the Montserrat Animal Protection Society. My husband and I inherited a house in Montserrat just as the volcano woke up in 1996 -- good timing, since I hate the wet cold WA winters. Paul my husband is an Elec. Engineer and we are owned by a Chihuahua, Basenji and black cat. Oh yes we also have a 35' sailboat -- Wauquiez Pretorian named s/v Pokai. Right now we sail in the San Juan Islands -- but someday we hope to head west to the South Pacific and keep going until we reach the Caribbean. I am still a liberal and proud of it.
