Barbi's Story
Life
Married within a year of graduation, and lived the nomad military life which was difficult and fantastic all at the same time. Nothing like learning all the cultural differences both here and abroad first hand. I'm divorced. I have two almost grown, absolutely fantabulous wonder-kids, three dogs and a cat. I love my life right now and am darn proud of my ability to not only take care of myself and my kids, but also my ability to get thru each of lifes little surprises without too many gray hairs (thank you L'Oreal). I am now back in the NW Valley!!! I am in a serious relationship with a boy I was great friends with at MVHS, who has grown into an amazing man!
My niche is being an Office Manager/Administrator (aka office control freak). I'm still the dork I was in school, but now I enjoy the me I have come to be!
I am also headed up our 20 year reunion for Mtn View. Friday Oct 6, 2006, at the Arizona Golf Resort. Where I was fortunate enough to reconnect with friends from school, an...Expand for more

Military
OK I feel I must add, while I wasn't actually in the military I was married to a career military man for over 18 years...We separated right after his retirement. At first I hated military life--because I was young, homesick, and had obviously been spoiled as a child (tho I didn't see it at the time). As we moved to different places both US and abroad, learning about cultural differences etc, getting to know the locals whether that was in England, Hawaii, or Seattle was such an amazing experience, and my children learned so much about repecting individuality.
Life was rough at first, but thru Reganomics, and (hate to say this) Clinton's revamping of the pay scale, things got easier. The best part of military life is how my family has grown with all of the wonderful friends that we have met thru the years.
