Darryl Barnett (Brown):  

Life: In 1984, I changed my last name (from Barnett to Brown) to reflect that of my biological father. Things have changed for me since most of you knew me. After repeating the tenth grade twice, at age 16, I quit high school and never returned. I spent the next five years reading books, partying and drinking ferociously. At the tender age of 20, I sat for the SAT exam (I was actually taking it for fun) and earned a 1410 out of 1600. Despite my high school experience, colleges started banging on my door. At age 23, I enetered Bently College (now Bentley University) since things have gone up hill, well sort of up hill. Here is a brief bio from my faculty web page: Dr. Brown is an assistant professor of accounting. He earned his bachelor's degree in accountancy and a master's degree in taxation from Bentley College. Darryl also has a master's degree in accounting from the University of Arizona where he completed his Ph.D. in accounting with a minor in finance in April of 2006. Darryl brings a great deal of practical experience to the classroom; he started his career in public accounting with Ernst and Young in Boston and finished his public accounting career as a tax consulting manager with KPMG's Boston office. In total, Dr. Brown has 8-years of public accounting and tax consulting experience. His client base included both small firms and fortune 100 and 500 companies. While pursing his doctorate degree, Darryl provided tax consulting services for small business and individual tax clients in Boston and Arizona.
