Teri's Story

I actually attended 5 high schools. Davis in Modesto CA, Burlingame in Burlingame CA, Orange in Orange CA, Edmonds in Edmonds Washington, and Fullerton in Fullerton CA. I was quiet and shy. Started freshman year at Davis and was there a couple of months. I learned how to kiss because of a girlfriend who took me under her wing. She asked her boyfriend to set up a little meeting with his friend who taught me how to kiss. Now honestly, how many people would do this? Also met a sweet fellow whose name I cannot remember but he drove all the way to Burlingame to visit me several times. At Burlingame, also freshman year I met my closest HS friends (Lori and Vicki) Rec hall dances, went steady before I knew how (sorry) and lots of amazing experiences as I was so lucky to have these friends who opened their homes and welcomed my visits over those 4 HS yrs. At Orange, I had a year long crush on a guy that I never uttered a word to, Lance. Volunteered at a senior home. I remember a girl friend whose brother bought a Camero, her mom always had sauce cooking on the stove. I remember Pat who introduced me to his friend who had a spiritual impact on my life and whose name I have forgotten. I only knew him for 24 hours or so it seemed. I believe his parents or friends lived at the beach, they made jewelry/earrings and they were very kind people. I only remember the beach and one night we drove in a VW bug, in the rain (like a boat in a sea) and hung out at the Disney hotel stores - everything was melting (laughing) So, whoever you are ~ Thank you for being there and introducing me safely to a new perspective, which years later lead to "The Only Dance There Is" Ram Dass! Started senior year at Fullerton, spent late fall and winter at Edmonds in Washington where I was deep into Siddhartha, Thoreau and riding the ferry. Returned to Fullerton for spring and graduation. You might remember me by my home made clothing, hippy look or riding my bike to school. I could be found outside the oldest building, under the big trees, drawing or reading. I remember a wonderful English teacher who somehow understood me and let me read books I ...Expand for more
chose, as long as I came to class once in a while. We wore a peace sign on the top of our graduation hats. I moved to northern CA summer of 1970. Attended Canada College in Woodside, CA. Started out as a live-in mother helper in Woodside. Shared a home on Edgewood Road with 5 or so college friends. Met Bill Bourland (who passed away years later). Dan Dillon, and Leo ? both moved on to continue college at Davis. Marty in the audio visual dept, who knew Bill but he changed my life by explaining how to develop mental fantasy. Bill and I moved into a barn on Skylonda Road with another family to co-care-take the logging property. Bill land I with others started the recycling center at Canada College, spent hours gathering, cleaning cans and bottles. I designed and painted the Recycling Center sign. We created a park from an abandoned lot via our English class. This was a wonderful and exciting time. I remember many friends but not their names. Many who touched my life deeply... Diane Dyer (the best teacher) and our boss (missing name) over buildings and grounds. I was the first woman janitor at that College, it took a lot of begging. Thank you ~ to all of you. I would love to hear from you. Spring of '73 I left Canada College and took a job making circuit boards at night while teaching at a Montessori school during the day. Later I chose to make a living, over my passion to change the world through education. And so went my life in the Electronics industry, making many a circuit board, later assemblies and then systems as a Manufacturing Engineer. '92 everything went off shore and i learned how to rebuild engines at Chrysler Power magazine. '93 moved into Human Resources placing contractors on pipeline projects in AK or software engineers at .com's. 2001 found me yearning for quality of life so i returned to the Montessori community. Update: Winter of 2013 ~ Spent the last several years involved and training in energy work, and Cranial Sacral Therapy. This practice is the best gift I can offer life ...to soften the hard edge...to open the door for release...to sooth for a moment...and oh so much more.
