Susan's Story
Life
Life is a strange thing. This is not something that was apparent to me as a teenager and now as I approach the quarter of a century mark, I realize the only thing that helps me ground myself and keep from spinning out of control are my roots. In a way Antioch is a big part of these roots.
After High school I went on to Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. Not too far to come home and do laundry, but far enough to feel independent. During this time I majored in Biology and Chemistry....Expand for more
I spent summers in Texas and Indiana. During the school year I traveled to Colorado and Europe for three weeks. Then I worked for a year as a nursing assistant in WI.
I decided that I hadn't seen enough of the world, so I joined the Peace Corps and spent two years in Uganda as a teacher trainer. An amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone interested. Now I am back in WI working at the Medical College as a Laboratory Tech. studying the heritability of heart disease in humans.
