Life After high school and college, I began working for the Fluor Corporation. I worked in the petrochemical construction industry in the middle of the desert in Saudi Arabia constructing a gas refinery. I consider this my “military time”, since I was never in the military. I had the opportunity to do a lot of traveling, while living in the middle of the Arabian Desert in a construction camp; we got a two week vacation every three months and round-trip airfare equivalent to the UK. I traveled through Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the East. Came back to the US after working there two years and went to work for McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach, suffered through a terrible marriage that was set-up for failure from the start, with two people who were simply not ready to get married.
