Teri's Story
Now I know why we got a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house for just the 2 of us...
At age 61, not much going on here now.
Been caring for my mom since 2019, who has dementia.
It's been very challenging.
You can't have "THINGS" while caring for dementia patients. It all gets lost or broken.
OMG! Keep them away from your antiques and collectables.
Also been caring of my brother, Ed who has been living with us since 2020 with some-sort-of-"Itis" with his legs due to lack of exercise. He was a long-haul trucker from New Orleans.
We all thought he'd lose his legs at one time but all is going well just not well enough for him to be on his own.
Ed was in the VA hospital in New Orleans for 3 years before they shipped him to me to care for.
I can see why too... An angry bitter soul, he is! Not too bright either.
I seem to be running a care center out of our home now and I am tired. I've gotten to where I can't move very well due to my own back...Expand for more
problems and now my left knee is acting up.
On top of all of that, my hubby moved his 30 year old son into our home, middle of 2020. Finally got rid of him recently... but not his belongings or his broken down car which has loads of moss growing under it in our driveway.
FYI; None of this happened due to COVID!
Other than that, I'm overworked and still kicking, just not as high these days.
Good thing I saw the world and had fun while I still could because, I swear... I might get out of the house MAYBE once a month or 2 now.
Good thing we have a fenced-in back yard. Throw everyone back there and they can't get lost.
I never ever thought I'd be spending my last days on this planet slaving away cooking, cleaning up after several others and bathing other peoples bottoms, besides my own... in my own house.
I have also realized, I have NO ONE to wipe my bottom when my time comes. Where did I go wrong? Is that why people have children?
