Barry's Story
Joined the Navy out of high school. Was on the USS PRINCETON, a helicopter carrier. We picked up Apollo l0 off of Samoa and had a cake cutting ceremony with the astronauts. It was the Apollo mission just before they landed on the moon. Watching the astronauts hovering in the sky held up by three parachutes was unbelievable. They then walked down the red carpet while being dropped off by the famous helicoptor "66".
Also was was the primary monitoring ship of an underground atomic bomb blast off of Amchitka, Alaska. We weren't ...Expand for more
supposed to feel anything but the ship really bounced around.
Went to Pearl Harbor in Hawaii many times. Loved it there.
Was in the Naval Reserve for over 20 years and made many lifelong friends.
Went to college, then lawschool and became a lawyer in 1980 practicing personal injury.
Love to travel, especially in Europe. Been there 3 or 4 times. Love the feel of Europe especially in Italy and Paris, but I loved everywhere I went. Want to go back.
