Barry's Story
Education & Businesses: In 1968 i received an A.S. from Southwestern Jr. College. Paid for by driving trucks for my dad & his friend, Ernest Warren. In 1971 i received a BS from SDSU. In 1974 i received MS from SDSU. Both BS & MS financed through research associateships. In 1978 i received a PhD from Washington State University, Pullman WA -- financed through a research associateship. Worked for the Texas Forest Service 1978-1981 as forest entomologist.
After SuHi, i refocused sports discipline on acedemic. Larry Richey was instrumental in that transition. We were in Physics together my 1st year at Southwestern. I still "lettered" at Southwestern in track & field.
Returned to SD 1981 as a software engineer. Promoted to manager 1984. Worked for Integrated Software Solutions & Calma to 1993. Fully funded my Soc Sec by 1994. Started as consultant 1996. Started 1st s-corp MaxQual Consulting. Bought 2nd s-corp Multiware 2012.
Currently CEO of 2 corporations & chief software engineer for 3 corporations.

Children: 2 beautiful daughters, Cristina & Jeni -- pilates instructors. 6 beautiful grand kids. Divorced 1987 -- my fault, not cut out to be a husband.
Dance: Modern dance 1980 to 1995 (free form & ...Expand for more
contact improv). Ballroom 2000 to present. Between 1980 & 1984 fell in love w/ 2 lead dancers -- got into all sorts of trouble... Retired from falling in love w/ lead dancers -- got to old to attract them :-) Dance is the primary arena for the expression of my otherwise hidden puer aeternus.
MIlitary Svc: I was skipped over for military service because of asthma, college deferment & finally lottery 319. I did not resist service & was turned down for officer training because of health issue (asthma). Questions: bhynum at cox dot net (substitute appropriately)
Religion: I was brought up Baptist but found that insufficient. While at SW, I focuses on science and math but found that sciences had no heart. During my BS and masters work at SDSU, I took enough religious studies (RS) classes to qualify for a minor in RS. I stayed with Taoism for about 10 years... mostly studied the I Ching... memoried it. Switched to Jungian depth psychology for about 10 years; wrote a book on my dreams: Shedding the Serpent Skins." Switched to Buddhism in 1990 & stayed there. Did a dozen silent meditation retreats; 2 for 30 days of silence. Learned to stop working memory & allow consciousness to occupy the cortex more globally. I have meditated daily 27 years.
