Barry's Story
What I've done since high school:
Lots of computer-related stuff. Led the architecture and design of four major IBM systems including a UNIX-based system, and the first client-server computer system. This system was used as the underlying computer technology for part of Toyota's automobile assembly line. Lived three years in England.
Awards and achievements:
5 U.S. patents, 2 Japanese patents, and 4 major IBM division-level awards for varying contributions in fundamental computer architecture advances. Emeritus Member of the IBM Academy of Technology.
Hobbies & interests:
Teaching seniors to use computers. Understanding energy alter...Expand for more
natives. Racketball. Reading. Travel. Theater.
Goals for the future:
1) Attempting to engage the U.S. Postal Service to implement one of my patents as a way to grow their business--but success is unlikely. Trying is still fun though.
2) Lots of travel.
3) Bowl 300 in one game rather than taking two games (OK. I know you are not supposed to add the scores of multiple games.)
Family:
1 amazing wife: retired teacher, adjunct university professor, newspaper correspondent, and newspaper editor.
1 son: Professor of Psychology at University of Paris 5.
1 daughter: President, ADL Consulting.
3 French/American grandchildren: 2 girls, 1 boy.
