Barry J.W.'s Story

Life My Spouse Marie A. Penn and I met at Johnston High School September 1975 in the hallway by counselor Darby's office My Job Caring and helping familes get thorough a stressful and unwanted situation in one of life's storms of emotional pathway to the eternal page. I always wanted to be a Funeral Director when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a strange idea. As it turns out, they were dead wrong. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have time, food, and a bathroom to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My mother, Henrietta and Rev. E.M. Franklin are my hero's even though they are no longer living on earth. I learn how to deal with all types of characters and personalities from them. Also, I learn not to think of myself more than others due to God's Grace!!! The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Dean Raymond Smith, because He changed my attitude in high school.. ...Expand for more
I use to be obsessed with wrestling. I'm okay today compared to six years ago. I kicked soap operas in college. If I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to church programs, then spend the rest on family, friends and strangers. To work full time until I die in the mortuary profession. My best friend would tell you I'm compassionate, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as arrogant. In 10 years, I hope to be making a difference in other people's lives. I'm going to get there by being more understanding to complicated situations. Kenneth R. Simpkins and I have been best friends since I saved his life at St. James baptist Church in 1976. The rest is a successful history. My first job was at Springdale Gardens Child Development Center, where I got paid $700.00 a month to be a social worker. What I remember most about it is we changed many children's conduct and attitude towards learning.
