Barry's Story
Life
After HS joined the USAF and served for a year at FE Warren, AFB in Cheyenne, Wyoming, then for a year at Murted AB, Turkey about 30 miles from Ankara. I was fortunate to visit, Paris, France, Rome Italy and Instanbul, Turkey..Then I was stationed at Westover AFB, Chicopee, Mass..and while there went on TDY duty for 6 months, to Okinawa, Japan, Guam and Bangkok, Thailand, while visiting Fairbanks, Alaska..then for my last year, I spent at DaNang AB, Vietnam..After discharge and going back to WV, I married and for the next 4 years, lived and worked ...Expand for more
in Ypsilanti, Michigan and then back to WV and worked in the Coal Mines for the next 12 years..Then moved to Asheboro, NC for the next 13 years and then I moved to Melbourne, Australia where I now live and work. I had 1 child, Barry Jr from my first marriage, and when I came to Australia, I married for the 2nd time..in 2002. We live in a suburb of Melbourne and I work for CheckMate Presicion Cutting Tools, Australia division, while the home plant is in Auckland, New Zealand. I love it here in Victoria but I do miss my family and friends from the states..
