Barry's Story
College
I majored in Aviation-Aerospace which is all about obtaining my pilot's credentials. I had a second major in History, both of which I use today as a teacher of World History in the 10th grade and I flight instruct all types of pilots during my spare time.
Personal
I married a girl from Denton named Rosana Banda. Just as I entered the Air Force, Rosana and I had one child named Rosemary. She is now married and has three children. Way to soon to be a granfather. They live in Ft. Worth. Rosana and I divorced in 1992. I moved to Castro Valley, CA where I met Syvia, my wife. There I went back to college for my teaching credential.
After 15 years, I moved home to Texas and started a place called the 2 Horse Ranch. I changed careers from teaching to ranching in 2010. I now own a 30 acre ranch which I raise and train horses on. I live East of Farmersville, TX near a small town called Merit. Since there is not much money in horses, I am searching for a job as a trainer/...Expand for more

Military
After college, I was an instructor pilot for two years in Ft. Worth, Texas. I joined the Air Force in 82', went to Officer Candidate School in San Antoinio followed by pilot training in Enid, Ok at Vance AFB. Following graduation, I was assigned to Barksdale AFB in Shreveport, La. with the 1401 Military Airlift Command. There I flew CT39A's (Saberjet) and C21A's (Learjet 35)flying VIP's. Later I transfered to Carswell AFB, Texas where I flew KC135A's (Boeing 707) doing air-to-air refueling. I left the Air Force in 1990.
Workplace
I look forward to going to work every day. Teaching is a very rewarding job, most of the time. Where else can I find a captive audience and get paid for it? Never thought that I would be teaching for a living. I was so ready to leave high school and now I'm back teaching. Go figure. I hear that Jerry Young is teaching too. As of 2010 I no longer teach in the public education system.
