Bart's Story

Life I was born in Iowa but moved to Southern California before the age of one. Lived in Artesia and Lakewood for 10 years until my father passed away in 1969. I moved back to Madrid, Iowa and lived their from 5th grade through the 10th grade. Got the itch to head back west and moved back to So Cal in 1975 and lived with my brother. Went to Gahr High in Cerritos my last two years and graduated in 1977. I got married in 1980, had daughters born in '82, '83, '86 and '90....Expand for more
I began to become weary of So Cal's negative points - namely the traffic, the illegal immigration, gang problems, panhandlers, etc. and the Rodney King riots became the last straw. I moved the family to Grinnell, Iowa late 1993 and have been here ever since. It was a great move. Zero regrets. I still have family and many friends in So Cal and I get out to visit about every year. Oh... finally had a son in 2000. He is a blast! Sorry to bore you -- but that is my story.
