Life
Oklahoma Outpost Reporting In: Almost 25 years ago, I departed on this trip to Oklahoma that was to last for 5 years. I've been here ever since...
Myths about Oklahoma....
They don't have electricity: Fact, installed last month.
They don't have indoor plumbing: Fact, next week!! LOL
Facts about Oklahoma,
It's windy... There is a tree in Kansas to hide behind!!
If you like thunderstorms, this is the place to be...
If you like tornados... this is really the place to be...
Welcome to StormChaser U!!
As the cards of life got dealt, some folks got really sexy places to live like Florida, California, Colorado,
New York... and somehow I got assigned Oklahoma... LOL
Where's Matt Suckstorff??
Oklahoma isn't for everyone, but it's a pretty decent place. It's a small big state with a lot of love. There have been a few transplants from the Institute (John M. remembers), but there are only two of us remaining. I've been here through most of the trials, May 3rd (think really big tornado), April 19th (think Terrorist), and below that, lesser hurdles, but those hurdles are of grand stature.
It was July of 1983 when I saw most of you last, I was off on a grand adventure....Expand for more
A grand aventure it has been. There has been disaster and heartache, exhilaration and triumph.
I have resisted the gravity of becoming a Sooner!! The Oklahoma Sooner fans are some of the most "In your Face", never went to the school, cry when they lose (think, West Virginia), OMG you would think this week the world has ended.
Instead, I have applied my allegiance to the Oklahoma State Cowboys!!! (Think, Mike, I'm a man and I'm 40, Gundy)
Go Pokes!!!
All in all, Oklahoma is a pretty cool place. Low cost of living, more surface acres of water than Minnesota (That's a fact), and great hunting and fishing, and a very progressive arts program. Soon we'll even have NBA team. If you like soap operas, watch the happenings with Clay Bennet and the SuperSonics. We would rather have the Hornets, but that's another story.
I've been gone from Michigan now longer than I lived there. I have to report that I'm now an Okie. I'm also a student at Oklahoma State University. It looks like I got off the bus that Appalachian State arrived on!!!
I look very much forward to all the talk that this post creates... I do love a good argument...
Till then,
Go POKES!!!!
