Dennis Becker:  

After graduating from Lakewood HS, I attended the University of Colorado and earned a BA in Physics and a MS in Computer Science. Since graduating from CU, I have been living in Southern California. Initially, I worked in aerospace but through some twists and turns I ended up working in public safety. I worked as a programmer at Systems Development Corporation developing LAPD's first computer aided dispatching (CAD) system. Later, I became an employee of the City of Los Angeles and lead the migration of the initial CAD system to a more powerful server. Even later, I became a direct employee of the LAPD. My position at retirement in 2013 was (civilian) Officer in Charge of the Police Dispatch Section that had responsibility for the procurement, maintenance, and upgrades of all the technical systems within LAPD's 911 dispatch centers. These systems included the radio, 911 telephone, and dispatching systems. I have been married twice and have one daughter and one grandson. In my younger years I was an avid classical guitar player until back and nail issues prevented me from playing. I have been and still am an avid photographer.
