Life
Hello to old friends! I have had a great life, so far. I live outside of Chicago with a wonderful gal named Karyn. I have a son, Devin Sebastian Bean, age 21, from a previous relationship. Karyn has a son, Josh age 18, from before and we have two little ones together - Wynton Elijah Bean and Genevieve Brynan Bean ages 8 and 6. After graduating LHS I went to Cleveland State and Case Western Reserve Universities majoring in poly-sci, music and theatre at various times. I have worked a wide variety of jobs in the arts including directing, design and production. I founded successful and influential performing arts groups in Cleveland (Music and Performing Arts at Trinity Cathedral), New York City (at The Cathedral of St. John the Divine)and Chicago(Wild Onion Theatre Co.). I have worked with such artists as John Malkovich, Gary Sinise, Laurie Metcalf, John Mahoney at Steppenwolf Theatre Co. where I worked for 7 years. ...Expand for more
I have worked for theatre companies in Cleveland, NYC, New Jersey (with Olympia Dukakis and Louis Zorich - a memorable "King Lear"), New Haven, CT (Yale Repertory and Long Wharf Theatres), Spoleto Festival(Italy - where I was presented to royalty!), London (with Albert Finney), and toured to Australia. Companies and productions I've worked on have won over 30 Jeff awards (a Chicago thing), Drama Desk, Obies and several Tonies. I have done concert lighting design for such notables as James Taylor, Art Garfunkel, Don Rickles, The Monkees, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, K.C. and the Sunshine Band and the Village People, as well as many others. Currently I work in Chicago doing event design and production and still do a little concert design on the side. We live in the suburbs and garden and camp and enjoy the children. Schedule and finances have kept me from previous reunions, but I hope to make it to the next one. See you then!
