Becky's Story
I joined classmates with the 1962 graduating class. Could-of, should-of but truth be known, I quit High School and went to Chamberlain night school where I did graduate.
I married at 19 and had my first of two children at age 21. I was married to my children's father for 7 years.
Later married a Tampa City Detective and do to his drinking and being physically abusive, we were divorced after 5 years. He passed away August 26th 2011.
I separated from my last husband in 2003 after 26 years of marriage I moved back to the Tampa Bay area,(Wesley Chapel, Florida) from Greensboro, NC. We divorced for religious reasons. He thought he was God and I didn't. He still lives in Greensboro. We were divorced in April 2007, at which time I took may maiden name back.
My son gave me my only granddaughter and my daughter gave me two grandsons. I've been blessed in more ways than even I can fathom.
I worked for Thatcher Glass Mfg. Co for 14 years as payroll clerk. After TGM bankrupted I worked as a volunteer at Tampa General Hospital with the new born babies. I learned from working at TGH the need for foster parents. We took the class and I kept 150 kids over a period of 8 years. Some stayed long term and many stayed over night or till the courts returned them back to their parents or a relative. I quit foster care when I moved to North Carolina in 1994. I worked for 6 pediatricians while in NC. I stayed for 8 years and separated from my husband in 03. Moved back to Florida and we divorced in 07. I went to work for pediatrics Health Care Alliance. After retiring I went to work for Sam's a couple years doing Demo's part time. I loved the stress free environment but quit after an...Expand for more
other company took over the Demo's. after being home bored I took in a couple foster kids. I had them 2-1/2 years until 2 weeks ago, August 2, 2013. They were adopted. Loosing them was the hardest thing I've done so I went to Long Boat Key for a week and baked in the sun and rode the waves while trying to get over my pity party. I'm still in mourning but starting to do better.
I'm hoping through Classmates or FB some old friends will take notice and rekindle our friendship. I can't remember my own name half the time so trying to remember the ones I knew in high school and especially Jr. high, is mind boggling.
Please note that I added my Junior High School, Sulphur Springs. I had many friends at Sulphur Springs and have so many fond memories, if only I could remember last names. Most of them went to Chamberlain and like myself, other's went to King. I hung around with Mary and Margaret Etheridge, Ethel Overman, Nancy Morris, Jenni Cornett, Anna Ruth Hatchi, Sandy Bacon and Joreen Burger among many others while in Jr. High and high school.
I was a cheerleader with Miss Cappello for our instructor. I dated Steve Bunner in Sulphur Springs and Joel Epperson at King.
Kenny Tucker lived down the street from me and we were friends. Don Gray was in the picture because he went with Mary for a while. Both Kenny and Don went to Chamberlain. I've lost contact with all of these great people except Jenni and Margaret. I've had some contact over the years with Margaret but I haven't seen her in a few years. If you know where any of my old friends are, have them contact me. If you remember me, freshen my memory and send me a message. I would love to hear from everyone.
