Becky's Story
Hi Friends,
It's been a while since we were all in high school. Life for me has not been dull. Two weeks after I graduated high school, I married Hugo Diaz. In 1968 we moved to California for eight years before moving back to New England. Our son was born in California and all three of our daughters were born in Rhode Island.
After working close to 20 years as a secretary/administrative assistant, I decided to return to school full time. Six years later, I graduated with a master's degree in speech-language pathology.
2002 was a challenging year for me. I divorced after 34+ years of marriage and that same year my father died, my grandson was diagnosed with autism, and my bro...Expand for more
ther tested positive for cancer. Thank goodness, I had religion and the support of my family to get through that time. Today I can say that both my grandson and my brother are doing fine.
After college, I worked full time for 11 years in the Massachusetts school system and then retired. I retired when I married my "Maine Man." We live in a little log cabin with our two cats on the beautiful coast in Downeast Maine. I believe that life can't get any better than this. I am very happy as the wife of William Birely.
