Becky's Story
I was in the class of 1987, but didn't actually graduate from Schuylerville. The summer of 1986 my family moved to California. It broke my heart to leave. I was dating Joe Sherman and had been for sometime. Due to the move we decided that our relationship had to end! It sure was a long drive to California. I got a job soon after arriving and started my senior year in Sebastopol, CA! I guess Joe and I wasn't such a bad thing after all. I met my husband in November of 1986. We got engaged in April of 1987! No, I was not pregnant! I completed high school and graduated June 11th, 1987. Shortly after graduating, we got an apartment together. We married on August 6th, 1988. Our first born came in 1990, it was a boy. In 1994, we had our second son. In 1995, My husband joined the Army. We moved to Germany in 1996. e stationed in Oklahoma. I started Nursing school in February of 2000. In September, my father passed away suddenly. I went on to complete nursing school and graduated with academic honors!!!! I am about to have an empty nest, as our baby will be graduating this coming May. Our oldest son is getting married in August. Our second son is currently in the National Guard. We are very proud of all three of our children! Our oldest is now married and we are expecting our 1st grandchild in September 2016....his name is Benjamin James.... We are currently living in Tulsa, Ok. I worked as a LPN for nearly 14 years, but in 2012 I had a work related injury that has left me disabled. I have had 3 back surgeries. I am currently waiting for my case to settle and then we will be moving to Wisconsin, where our oldest son and his wife live. Ken is now on Social Security and also receiving VA disability due to his military injuries.
