Becky's Story

Life I was raised in the Alderwood Manor, Lynnwood and Edmonds area. I attended Lynnwood Jr. High and then Edmonds High School. To my disadvantage I think I skipped more school then I attended. I did not graduate with my class but did go back and got my GED. I attended a business school and some College but I never did go on to higher education. I moved to Boise, Idaho in 1973 and have not kept in touch with any of my high school friends. I am getting old because I can not even remember the names of some of my friends. I do remember Maureen Piel and Brenda Cronk. I recognize the names but can not put a face to a name. Funny. I married Ken Taniguchi in 1975 and we stayed here in Boise. I worked in Banking most of that time. (I did not like it) In 1980 I left the Bank to give birth to my first son Matthew. When I left the bank I made the comment that I would come back only if my children were hungry. I was pretty much a stay at home mom. I worked only when we needed extra money for a vacation or something special but usually in the evenings. Zachary was born in 1983. Being a mom was the most important job I have had. I still miss my little boys. I poured myself into being a mom and missed the 80's culture altogher. I did not see the 80's movies or the hear the music. I was listening to Jesus loves me and Mr. Roger's. In 1992 my husband and I got divorced. Remember I said I would not go back to the bank unless my children were hungry well they were not hungry but they might have gotten that way if I did not get a job. So back to Banking. From the bank I went to a company based out of Seatte called Radar Electric they sell electronic components to all kinds of different companies. From there I went to another Electronic company named Allied Electronics. I worked there for 2 years before I was promoted the Sale manager. I worked for a total of 9 years for Allied. They closed the Boise office in May of 2004 and I got my Real Estate License. I went to work for John L. Scot another Seattle based company. I am now with Keller Williams Realty. Not long after I was divorced I met Matt Logan. What a guy swept me off my feet. We were married in March of 94 and it has been a great relationship. We compliment each other. Matt is very task oriented and I am ADD. Thank God for this man. I grew up very responsible for other peopl...Expand for more
e and Matt let's me be who I am so I am so much happier at 54 then I was at 20 or 30. I think he is cute too. We just went on a 2nd honeymoon to Kaanapali Beach Maui and can not wait to go back. We are going to take the family when my son comes home. My boys lived with thier dad and with I after the divorce. Matt my oldest is a self proclaimed Snow bum. He teaches Snowboarding at Brundage Mtn. in the winter and sells mountain bikes and repairs them in the Summer. He is a great kid. He will be 27 in October and I asked him recently if he thought he would ever grow up and he kind of smiled and said sorry mom I don't think so. Oh well,no Grandchildren from him for a while. Zak my baby will be 24 in November and he is in the Army 82nd Airborne. He is currently serving his 3rd and hopefully last deployment in Iraq. He is in Baghdad and was suppose to home in July but it has been extended until January 08 much to my disapointment. If you are a prayer please keep Zak and all our troops in your prayers. I live on Snohomish St and grew up in Snohomish County. I have lived in this house for 27 years now. I moved in the same month I found out I was going to be a mom for the first time. I still have family in Washington my sister Jane lives in Leavenworth, my step mom lives in Everett and my husbands brother lives in Kirkland. So we still get up there often. I would love to come to the next reunion and reunite with some old friends. So email me and say hi if you remember me. Okay Well,an update I am not 54 any longer. But then neither are any of you. Still on Snohomish St. My oldest Matt is now married and had to leave the snow bum life behind. They bought a house in a little town near Boise. We love our new daughter Danielle and her family. Zak my soldiers is now out of the Army (whew) finally. He is doing fairly well. All soldiers come home wounded but we are loving him and he is much better than when he first came home. I am no longer selling Real Estate partly because of the market and my heart is just not in it. Not sure what I want to be when I grow up. (HE HE). Life just keeps rolling on. So glad to connect with some of you. Becky:-) Update 3/14/2011 My oldest son is having a baby well his wife is and it is a girl:) Not having any girls this is an exciting adventure for us. I am planning on coming to the reunion in August.
