Patricia's Story

After high school I ended up in Michigan where I started working in a field which has become my career.Medical. I married in 1984,gave birth in 1986 and then again in 1990. 2 daughters. Racheal being my oldest and Ariel is my youngest. Both my daughters reside in Missouri, where we moved to in 1995. We lived what most would describe as "The Back Woods" To me it was just plain country, nestled in a valley in between the hills of The Mark Twain National Forest.Very beautiful country and a wonderful place to raise my girls. The town which had apopulation of about 2000,and 1 stop light did not have much to offer in the means of employment,so I commuted through the curvey winding and sometimes dangerous hill/roads to work.I landed a job at hospital about 54 miles from where I lived.I was blessed by being able to work in every dept there. From ob/gyn to geriatrics.I worked with heart patients, car accidents, parapalegic, quadrapalegic.I helped bring babies in this world as being there when a person took their last breath.I have met many amazing people throughout my career in Nursing,it is not an easy career, but it sure is a rewarding one. I came back to California in January of 2004, to visit as well as search for employment,I was at a place in my life that I had to make a change, and it was not an easy one. While out here my sister, her husband and myself were victims of a drunk driver!! Where both of them recieved some injury I took the brunt of the impact, which left me spending my first year back home here in Cali in and out of Dr's offices,in and out of physical therapy and eventually ended up in the hospital having spinal surgery. Not how I envisioned starting a new chapter in my life at...Expand for more
all.None the less things happen in our lives for reasons unknown to us,they just happen and we either choose to ignore them or learn from them. This changed my life forever and not just from the injuries I recieved. My daughters are both living in Missouri. Rachael has started a family of her own. Married a nice young man,who has 3 girls from a previous marriage, and their ages are 6 and 5. The 5 year olds are twins. Then there is Mia, who is 2. So I have 4 grand daughters. Ariel whom is 17 1/2 chose to stay with her father in Missouri(like I said her decision not mine). She will be graduating next year, and has not decided what she wants to do. I divorced my ex after almost 20 years of marriage, or what was suppose to have been a marriage. He was a cross country trucker who decided to stay out on the open road for weeks and at times months on end. So I raised my girls and learned how to do home repairs. There came a point in my life where I ended up in the hospital and had to make some life changing decisions, they were not easy, but necessary. Thus here I am back in Cali. One can not change their past, but rather look back and learn from it. I live in Fairfield, with a very good man. No plans on marrying. I have agreat job with California. I work at The Veterans Home In Yountville. Such joy and pleasure seeing and being around the very people who fought for our country. We have veterans from WWII through the Iraq war, who live there. The grounds at The Veterans Home is so peaceful and relaxing. I love my job there. Thats all I have time for. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and read. When I come across then pictures I will post them and recent ones.
