Ben's Story
Life
In 53 left Charleston to study art. Finished my graduate studies in 60 at Ohio University. Taught at a few colleges and developed my art career (most exciting period was teaching in a university in Puerto Rico). Landed at Northern Illinois University in 65. They treated me very well (even let me live in Connecticut for a few ye...Expand for more
ars and commute!) They gave me a few honors at NIU and let me retire in 98. All the while I was spending about 40 hours a week in the studio. That career has gone pretty well. Moved to Florida in 2004, and am greatly enjoying the new life. Married to Pamela (who has 4 sons) and I have 3 kids (Kassandra, 45; Jeremy, 27; Amanda, 26).
