Benjamin's Story

I don't really know who if anyone remebers me, but I was on the football team my senior year, the wrestling team my junior and senior year, where I was second in OIA and third in stae my senior year and I was in the select chorus my freshman, sophomore and junior year. After graduation I went in the Marine Corps as a "Grunt" and got stationed in Okinawa and volnteered for Recon. I was able to travel around Asia, mainland Japan, Korea and the Philippines. I fell in love with the Philippines, I also got married there and my daughter was born there. After 4 years I got out and returned to Hawaii with a wife, daughter and a son on the way. With a wife, daughter and son on te way and no job after 9 months I enlisted in the Navy where I spent the next 16 years. I volunteered for SEAL Team and graduated the Basic Underwater Demolition SEAL training class #108. It was one of the more difficult things I have ever done, making it worse my sister Lillian died from cancer as I was going through the training in 1980. After BUD/S I was assigned to UDT-11 in Coronado, CA until it became SEAL Team 5 in May 1983. I stayed with SEAL Team 5 until 1989 when I was transferred to Virgina with "RED CELL". At RED CELL we were in Sna Frnacisco when the earthquake hit and the Philippines when Mount Pinatubo erupted. Rumors had it RED CELL caused both events. RED CELL was shut down in 1992 and I was assigned to SEAL Team 4 where I retired in 1995. During my Navy career I was afforded some of the best trai...Expand for more
ning available anywhere to include attending the Defense Language School in Monterey, CA twice, 1983-84 for Tagalog and 1993 for Spanish. After the Navy I went to St. Petersburg Russia for three months where I trained Russian security personnel in various aspects of security. After coming back to the states I worked various contract security positions. In 1999 I got my "Dream Job" which was as the Country Security Manager to the Philippines for Raytheon Ebasco Overseas Ltd. (which later was bought by Washington Group International)where we built the San Roque Dam in San Manuel Pangasinan on Luzon. It was the best 4 years of my life. The project was completed in 2003 and I went back to the states again for a short period to be an instructor at the Federal Air Marshall Training Center in Atalntic City New Jersey. I also separated from my wife at this time and moved back to the Philippines by myself. In September of 2003 I was asked by Washington Group to go to Iraq too develope the security for their portion of the "Restore Iraqi Electricity" project sponsored by the Army COE. That porject was completed in April 2004. I did a couple contracts with Blackwater in Baghdad until 2006 when I decided to stay home with my fiance and our son who was born February 17 2005. I am currently the Director of Extreme Operation Protective Detective Services in Manila, a high end security agency specializing in Executive Protection. I live with my girlfiend, our son and my girlfriends four children.
