Benjamin's Story
Life
Taught 6th and 7th grades for 12 years. Met Jean in January of 1962 when she signed up for a ski class I was teaching in a local ski area We married in June of the same year. Moved to Redding Ca.in 1966. Opened a retail sports specialty store emphacizing skiing and backpacking in 1972 on an idea and $6,000 that grew to our own free standing building of 14,000 sq. ft. board second store in 1995. After twenty-eight years in the retail business I retired in May of 2000. Enjoying persuing hobbies that include golf, hunting and fishing, training our three year old Lab, tennis, skiing, and traveling in our new trailer. Life has been an exciting, challenging, difficult ride. It is at it's best now. I'm loving retirement. If only I could slow down the clock.
